We normally spend mornings in our courtyard having breakfast, taking in some vitamin D (when the weather permits, of course). This morning, Finley is especially cute with his Just Woken Up look, apple in hand, head resting on ball.

A glut of Finley: Around the Bartholomew house

The second in the series of Photo gluts, here are some lovely pictures of dear Finley round about the Bartholomew house (in nearly no particular order): Finley points at a dandylion flower, fascinated by how it disappears when Amanda blows on it. Mandy covers Finley's head with his t-shirt, rendering him into an auntie. Finley spies out the camera as he plays his favourite game in the guest room - Opening and closing the door. Finley puts on his best Granddad Richard face for the camera. Amanda's activity at the washing machine outside distracts Finley from his smearing-kiwi-in-the-carpet game. The aftermath of Finley's smearing-kiwi-in-the-carpet game. Finley joins Bradley for his new favourite water sport - Showering. Amanda pushes Finley's ample hair into a mowhawk during a shower. Successful weekend in GTN, and even Gmail

I have just spent the weekend down in grahamstown visiting flipflop/lanyard/brother of d-arb for his 21st birthday. It was a weekend of much fun and debauchery was had by many. The only casualties were bogey, the plant in the garden of 30 somerset.

Firstly, it was so glorious to go down to the eastern cape, it is currently a deep green, and I forgot what open space really looks like. I sat in awe for about 2 hours as we flew over the region, and then drove from PE to grahamstown. Big fields with nothing but trees and grass, fantastic. Obviously the other aspect was to see my friends and family. A special bunch, the lot of them.

Highlights include:

Finding out that the only person who discovered I was coming to town was Kyle, due to blunders by mother, father, and brother.
Surprising 31 Cross street, and then sleeping on the flea infested mattress with crystal in the lounge, lovingly called Darb's room
Going to Bedford for lunch at the purple rabbit, a restaurant cum backpackers cum art center cum organic vegetable garden started by Kyla's mom and sister. In case you don't know, Bedford is about an hour outside of Grahamstown, in the middle of nowhere, literally.
Climbing at howies on my way back to PE, and Killing Another Roadside Attraction(22)(a route I have been trying for like two years), before flying out. Much thanks to Pudding, Kath's boyfriend, Neville, Cam, and of course, Sopwith, the camel
