I just found a pretty rad tool that uses the dojo framework to do offline storage. This means you can build asyncronous web applications, asyncronous as in, connect to internet, do things, disconnect, carry on, reconnect, push changes upstream, etc. Pretty rad stuff. The links: 1, 2.
