Friend of the Whijos: Dylan
As a prefix to this post, I am mighty jealous because the picture above. It is the kind of picture I want with Fin, but Dyl is in it instead, and I don't resent him or anything, but I wish for a picture of me and Fin like that, in case anyone is listening.
When Taryn, Luke and Dylan moved to "the farm" just outside of town they started the custom of getting people to come visit them on the weekend, usually a Sunday, and usually for brunch. We have taken part in many of these, we have even brought friends and family along. It is a great way to spend a Sunday. In the past few weeks we had baby parties, Staying-At-Home-Doing-Nothing weekends, and the farm people were coming and going, so we skipped a few weekend.
Dyl just arrived from a few weeks out of town, with his new super green 4x4 "Suiker Bekkie", so we figured we should pop down and visit him, and go for a swim in the dam. By the time we got to the farm the weather was nice, but not as nice as the early morning. Finley was in a very dazy-sleepy-but-not-willing-to-sleep mood, so we didn't get to the dam straight away, hoping we could pop him off for a catnap before we swam, so he would be more amenable to a swim. Fin spent the better part of the morning splashing in his shallow pool at home, so we were hoping he would like to swim in a big pond ;)
Eventually we took a walk up to the dam, and hopped in for a dip. Dyl and T took the lead and dived in, this is what it looks like just before Dylan landed in the water:

Mandy soon joined with a naked fin, and splashed around in the shallows a bit. Dyl tried to play games in front of Fin and ended up freaking him out (no surprises since Fin was probably at about 6 .5 hours without a nap, which is a lot more than his normal 3-4 hours of waking time). So below I have a picture of an unhappy Fin, a comforting Mandy, an apologetic Dylan, and a nervously smiling Taryn:

P.S. Earlier in the day Fin was much cuter and happier

I would like to add as the official Fairy God Father, being cute is what fairies do best. However, I must clearly state that being a DAD is a far more extraordinary condition and is not merely looking the part. Darb you make a superb dad, we see it all the time....not just in silly photographs.
